Now, a Canadian startup is building a community especially for watch enthusiasts in a bid to strengthen local trade. The platform was created by a French founder who spent many years in the watch industry.

It brings together stories from community members that provide insights into how their love of watches originated and what they like about individual models. From old-fashioned timepieces to luxury watches.

Traders can appear in an index against a fee, while selected manufacturers also have the chance to tell their story. A portion of the profits is donated to charitable causes.

As for sustainable watch straps, well that’s another story altogether.
