

Creating diverse working environments is important. Increasingly, for People of Color, owning one’s own business is a genuine possibility.
Now, the Canadian province of Ontario is expanding its support for people of different ethnic backgrounds.
Over two years, $5 million is being invested in a program that startups can apply for online. Successful applicants will receive financial support of up to $10,000, as well as training and coaching sessions.
An additional $14 million has been pledged to grant young Black people access to job opportunities in high-growth sectors.
The scheme will remove barriers, anchor the notion of ethnic justice in the corporate landscape and foster sustainable economic growth.
This Toronto-based program, meanwhile, is already leading the way.
