Diversity brings color to our lives. A fact that has been acknowledged in fields such as fashion and ballet.
But underrepresented groups need more support. Which is why Toronto University has launched a new program to encourage Black-led startups.
The program provides access to networks, resources, specialist knowledge, financial consultants and mentoring.
The initiative is aimed at ensuring Black-led businesses achieve success – with funding of up to €25,000 available for expansion and scaling.
Something to complement the work of these three brothers. Up till now only 2 out of every 300 Canadian state grants have gone to Black-owned businesses.
More than 100 founders and 50 organizations, meanwhile, have already benefited from the scheme.
Excellent.
