Cycling, running and playing tennis are not just beneficial for our health.
A new portable wind turbine designed by a Canadian startup, which focuses on sustainable research and development, also supplies electricity.
Depending on the strength of the wind, the 1.3kg turbine can generate up to 40 watts. An aluminium tripod with tensioning cables keeps it firmly planted in the ground.
The 35cm long device is fitted onto a rotating hinge so it automatically spins into the wind when its rotor blades are folded out.
While operating it also charges the internal 12,000 mAh battery which lets users power 4 separate devices within an hour while on the go.
Available for pre-order through a crowdfunding campaign it can soon be taken for a spin.
These turbines, meanwhile, function without blades.
