The human body is a marvel, but who’d have thought we’d be able to use it as a means of generating electricity?
Developments in the field of thermoelectricity mean that human beings will soon be able to produce green energy – through body heat.
Though not entirely new, it’s a method which was previously regarded as inefficient.
Now scientists in Russia have developed a practice whereby so-called thermo-cells can be used to convert surplus warmth into electricity.
The aim is to develop transportable batteries that can be fixed onto clothing or other surfaces in order to convert heat into energy.
The possibilities appear endless. Need to charge your cell phone while you jog?
All the more reason to warm up properly!
