Children grow up knowing what they want to be. Many end up realizing their dreams.
Take this young man from Leeds, for example. Born with an extra chromosome, his parents encouraged him that anything was possible from an early age.
Now 20, he is about to embark on a career for a major UK children’s TV channel – becoming their first presenter with Down’s syndrome.
It all began with an educational video in which he challenged public preconceptions about the genetic condition.
Above all, parents who have children with Down’s syndrome are celebrating the move. Around 5 million people are estimated to live with this condition globally, but until now they have been vastly under-represented on our screens.
Wonderful – like this.
