Inspired by the question of how information about the disorder can be made more readily available, a games company has combined forces with a research facility to create a new game in a virtual world which can be enjoyed by anywhere between 1 and 5 players.
Children and adults learn about the causes of Type 1 Diabetes in a series of mini-games, including a maze, a quiz, a tug-of-war and a scavenger hunt.
The aim is to show children, in particular, how a healthy diet can help keep blood sugar levels in check.
