A US organization has taken it upon itself to provide an answer. ‘The Homecoming Project’ gives American citizens the chance to temporarily house recently released former prisoners.
All that’s required is a spare room.
Instead of winding up in sheltered housing or back on the street, ex-offenders have a roof over their heads and can start re-integrating into society.
Prospective landlords receive $750 a month as well as a security deposit from the project.
Now that’s what we call ‘win-win’!
