Diversity & Ethics

Birds have rhythm in their blood and dancers are onto something pretty cool.

Just like an organisation from London who is giving around 100 former homeless people the chance to star in an opera – whether front- or backstage.

The artists come from London, Nottingham and Manchester. Each performance comprises 9 parts, co-written during creative workshops by people with experience of living on the streets.

Performances take place in front of an animated backdrop and feature music from a well-known orchestra.

The initiative aims to help performers – as well as those in the audience with similar experiences – rediscover their voice.

Additional goals: to make society reflect on homelessness and promote social inclusion.
