Music is easy to produce and post online. Once there, however, companies use it to train their AI chatbots for free.
Now, a California-based startup wants to level the playing field and give media partners a share in the profits. Its generative AIs will be trained with content provided by participating publishers, authors, music labels and artists.
Access, meanwhile, will come at a cost. Only subscribers can enter their prompts to receive AI generated content such as texts, images, videos or music.
A special algorithm will help isolate all the original sources used. The plan is to distribute half the profit to the respective copyright owners.
Elsewhere, startups are certifying AI developers and ensuring AI users’ privacy is protected.
