Albeit not in Greece – thanks to a startup that provides automatic seawater access stations.

At the beach, users can switch from their wheelchairs to a mobile sun lounger which is conveyed slowly into the ocean along a track path. Progress can be halted at any time via the waterproof remote control.

At the end of the line, handrails enable users to ease themselves into the water, or lift themselves back out post swim. Italy and Corsica are already in, and US expansion beckons.

Remotely-operated buoys could save lives in emergencies.
