In the course of a lifetime some females identify as male and undergo bodily changes. But the desire to be a parent can remain.

This means interrupting testosterone therapy and enduring accompanying physical and psychological challenges.

Now a reproductive biologist from Edinburgh University has discovered that even after years of treatment, follicles can be taken from the ovaries of transgender men and allowed to mature into eggs.

In-vitro fertilisation could then lead to the start of a family. In future, young cancer patients could have healthy parts of their ovaries removed and frozen post biopsy.

Transgender issues are also a big deal in Chicago.
