Thanks to weather apps, we know when we need an umbrella.
In banana plantations, information about the condition of the fruit is even more helpful. And now a startup from Latvia is focusing its attention on bees.
The team’s solution, an intelligent, wind- and weather-resistant set of scales, is placed under the beehive, where it can measure hive weight, temperature and humidity.
Data are then sent wirelessly to a web platform, meaning beekeepers can monitor how their hive is progressing, and how hard their bees are working.
Unnecessary site visits are thus avoided, and the bees’ needs met more quickly.
Time is honey.
