Black Lives Matter is changing things. Not least when it comes to financing startups.
More and more venture capital firms are recognising the value of diverse teams and are investing accordingly.
Now a non-profit diversity organisation from England has developed a certification programme. With it, VC companies can highlight their commitment to diversity and inclusion.
With the help of an AI, firms are assessed on factors like team feedback, public perception and internal policies on investment-portfolio or inclusion practices.
The results are compared with datasets of more than 21,000 companies globally. If the VC lists above industry standard it gets certified. Customised improvement plans are offered.
Certification of diversity as standard: in this game there are only winners.
