Sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie, doesn’t it? But we aren’t far from the future.
A few scientists from Europe made a mouse nerve cell speak with two artificial cells over the internet. It seems they struck a chord.
Implanting artificial cells into the brain can have its perks. Some might get excited as they see a chance to upgrade their IQ. Others will wait impatiently to replace damaged parts of the brain so an intelligent and connected prosthesis will help them walk again.
But who is going to hold the reins on the technology so we don’t create a multi-class society? And what if your implanted AI turns into a big cat?
