A one-minute dance could help diagnose autism in children. Now, an Irish startup is helping teachers spot literacy issues in primary-school children.
In its animated game, stemming from a research project, children go through a series of exercises on areas like letter recognition, rhyme awareness and the reproduction or merging of individual sounds.
Upon completion, analysis is shared with teachers. Children’s pronunciation, intonation and speech rhythms provide insight into their learning needs and allow for early intervention. Enabling good reading and writing skills in later years.
The game is played three times per academic year to monitor progress and is currently used by 25,000 children in 600 schools across 6 different countries.
