Enhanced orientation

Digital libraries enable greater access to education in Congo. But for women in rural areas of Nepal, the problem persists, particularly at tertiary level.

Enter a not-for-profit organisation which is offering local women traineeships in order to develop additional skills and confidence.

The education and orientation programme encompasses health, environmental and social issues, as well as physical training.

Recent successes include a three-week IT course – run by two volunteers from their German partner organisation using donated laptops – where participants were taught the rudiments of office software.

Having created their own CVs and covering letters, trainees can take their first steps in the professional world.

The academy’s goal is to become a global institute for integrated education based on Buddhist principles.
