Mobile mushroom farms help save on delivery channels and packaging.
Now, to reduce the millions of disposable cups used daily, a startup from Melbourne has developed a tasty alternative to conventional takeaway tea and coffee.
Their edible cups are reminiscent of ice-cream cones. They are made from local oats, grain and rye plus coconut oil, sugar and salt.
Once filled, keep their shape for up to 8 hours. The cups even come with chocolate- or cinnamon-flavoured rims.
The biodegradable containers currently cost around €1 to make and can be stored for 6-9 months. Work is underway to develop a compedible lid.
Spoons to nibble after use are already available, as is this sustainable packaging.
