Now, working with experts and patients, an advertising firm’s international team has developed a free app that counteracts the tremors that are typical of the disease.

As a first step, surfing the internet on iPads will be made easier by reducing the size of browser windows.

Using data from the in-device acceleration sensor, the app creates counter movements to compensate for hand tremors, thus ensuring that web content is kept stable.

The user interface, meanwhile, can be customised with large buttons and text, aiding readability and general use. Expansion to other devices is planned.
