Hearing aids or pacemakers don’t need batteries. E-bikes and scooters definitely do.
After multiple charging cycles, some cells often lose their functionality which makes complex batteries completely useless.
A French startup is aiming to prevent this with its innovative new battery pack. The casing is made from recycled materials and contains cells which can be individually exchanged. No cables or soldering necessary.
An electronic control system monitors the cells’ status, while information such as the number of charge cycles and capacity is accessible by app.
In case of malfunction, the battery can be repaired and cells replaced within 10 minutes. Discarded battery cells, meanwhile, can find a second home in portable solar lamps.
Just the thing for bright minds.
