Now, a San Francisco female inventor has created an app which recognises the early stages of Parkinson’s.
A person’s face is filmed while they carry out various online tests; the film is then analysed using facial recognition software.
The AI is trained to perceive initial signs of the disease, usually caused by low dopamine levels, such as tremors and facial rigidity.
The software could allow the condition to be treated early – sometimes up to 20 years before more obvious symptoms manifest themselves.
Studies showed the programme to be 95% accurate in detecting Parkinson’s and 93% accurate when it came to other neural disorders.
Sebum samples can be equally helpful and this app provides stability.
