The moon goes through its cycle quietly and without fuss. Women, too.
Now, a startup from Philadelphia is aiming to ensure that local women have adequate access to hygiene products.
Their recently launched campaign encourages women to speak about their experiences with period poverty. This occurs when women have no money for tampons or sanitary towels, obliging them to miss work, or equally serious, meals.
The startup is calling for donations, money which will be used to purchase and distribute menstruation products to women in need.
Period poverty affects people globally and is a particular issue in poorer countries where an AI-based initiative is already in place for support.
Getting regular help is essential.
