Children can make fantastic constructions from building blocks. The first 3D printed school is already on the way.
Now, thanks to a Finnish company, schools can be built inside six days using special blocks made from recycled plastic and timber waste.
Meaning the construction of a single classroom transforms three tons of plastic waste into something useful.
The blocks just need to be stacked; and they’re affordable, elastic and light. This is particularly important in the event of natural disasters, since if the building collapses it is unlikely to cause major injury.
Reconstruction, moreover, is significantly quicker. A total of 77 schools have already been built in Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia, Indonesia and Rwanda.
The foundations have been laid.
