Now a recently launched startup from Germany has adapted this idea to create a car concept that can be custom modified according to taste and need.
Two 3.64 meter long chassis are designed for either standard, or offroad purposes. The body, meanwhile, comes in 10 interchangeable variations.
Meaning users can drive a convertible one day and turn their car into a station wagon or campervan the next.
The lightweight vehicle is powered by an exchangeable battery with integrated solar charging for a range of 600 kilometres.
Top speed is 90km/h thanks to four 20hp wheel hub motors. Cars can be reserved online now.
