Tracking your morning run? Your decision, and a piece of cake thanks to apps.
But data collection is not something we can necessarily control. Not in cities with video cameras on every corner.
These systems recognize and track us, but how do they know why we are there? Unintentionally land in a violent demo? Your card is marked.
Now a design firm has a potential solution: a ring that connects to recording devices. One touch of a button and we’d switch to ‘invisible’ and refuse to have our data recorded.
Controlled through an associated app, selective data – for doctors, or businesses, for example – could still be shared. Implementation would be an enormous task and require government backing.
Wonders never cease.
