Dragonfly wings and joint braces share a connection. For damaged cartilage tissue, a new biopaste could help. Therapeutic exercise or rest can alleviate other joint complaints.
And now a US-based research team has developed a wearable device so that active people can manage their conditions more effectively. The device contains four electric sensors.
Using bands for support, these are placed around the joint, sending a low current through the tissue to measure resistance. High resistance suggests too much fluid and possible inflammation or injuries. Low resistance could be a sign of arthritis.
The data are sent to an app for analysis; AI then makes therapeutic recommendations accordingly.
In more serious cases, an Italian-made robot could come in handy.Â
