Some devices improve hiking stamina.
Now, a US startup has developed special shoes for pedestrians who want to cover ground faster. The water-resistant robot shoes are strapped on and their 8 wheels powered by miniature electric motors.
Artificial intelligence captures walkers’ natural speed and stride length and adapts the electric support. The wheels only turn when users are in motion and can reach speeds of up to 10km/h.
For safety purposes the motors can be deactivated with a simple tap when climbing stairs or standing still. The 3Ah battery has a range of 7-10 kilometres and can be charged in 90 minutes via USB-C.
Others are devoting their time to the needs of people with limited mobility.
