Recorded authenticity

Music can help identify compromised IT networks. Thanks to AI, however, deep-fakes are becoming increasingly hard to detect.

Enter a Hamburg startup and its new software platform, which protects image-based media from manipulation. The team’s patented trust-technology combines cryptography with computer-assisted image analysis.

When image-material (photos, videos) is created using the platform, the camera’s properties are converted into a digital fingerprint and embedded into the files. Preventing changes from being made.

An initial field of application has been insurance claims. Any photos submitted are checked for authenticity – whether the background matches the given location or if the image has been photographed. After this, the platform scours the internet for online duplicates.

Imperceptible embedded sounds, meanwhile, are safeguarding composers’ copyright.
