The smell of ladybirds keeps parasites away from plants.

Some human bodies produce too much sweat, and bacteria in the armpits cause unpleasant smells. Deodorants with aluminium salts are not advisable as ingredients can cross the blood-brain-barrier, risking diseases such as Alzheimer’s.

The clinically-tested device of a Seoul-based startup uses plasma from molecules that contain oxygen, thus easily sterilising the bacteria in a non-toxic manner. The device is activated for between 1.5 and 3 minutes under the arms.

An inner recess and additional silicone padding prevents the plasma generator from touching and causing irritation on the skin. 94% of test subjects seem convinced.

Old smells, however, are worth documenting, while chilli can even make solar cells sweat.
