Peaceful position

A smart ball can alleviate stress, so too purring cats.

Snoring, however, is no good for a proper night’s sleep – either for the snorer, or the person beside them.

Enter a Hong Kong based team and its planned smart neck pillow. It uses the sound waves that travel through snorers’ neck bones as they sleep.

These are recorded by sensors in the pillow before being analysed by an AI chip to identify snoring patterns.

Whereupon an air cushion in the pillow generates gentle vibrations so that the sleeper takes up a different position to stop snoring. Data can be sent to a mobile app, making it possible to monitor sleep patterns long-term.
